Five years post-Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), an expedition braves isolated equatorial regions to extract DNA from three massive prehistoric creatures for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.

THE GOOD

The latest edition in the Jurassic universe, the movie brings a healthy dose of nostalgia - giving fans clear callouts to the original and best, Jurassic Park (1993).

The cast is stacked and the thrills are satisfying.

The glasses, sluttier than ever.

THE BAD

There’s not much new here to explore. The story takes parts of the previous movies and tries to piece them together like an incomplete DNA sequence (corporations bad, dinosaur doctors good), instead of forging its own tracks.

Is the age of good dinosaur movies… extinct?

THE UGLY

And we mean ugly. Stranded on an island filled with the deformed rejects from the previously mentioned modified mutant dinosaur program, we meet the ugliest of all the stepsisters. I think they are meant to be terrifying… but it’s mostly distracting.

The humans in the Jurassic world may be bored of the classic dinosaurs, but the audience sure isn’t. Stick with the originals.
